Hi all, I am looking for a new or used repair manual for a P reg 960 automatic 24v 3.0. I don't see one by Haynes. Have I missed something .. or is there something else available? Thanks Steve

Hi, That looks to be the vacum chamber used with the cruise control. If you squeeze it gently when the engine is ticking over you'll notice the engine revving up. Des. . . ;)

Definitely the cruise control, Des. As to the manual, Haynes do not publish a UK manual for the 960 or V90 models. Some of the late 760 manual from Haynes could be used as many of the parts are the same or very similar but there are a number of glaring differences (like the engine for example). You could try the Chilton manual (Haynes in the States) covering multiple models including the late 960 and V90. The book is written for the American market so much of the terminology is different. The book is available through Amazon or you may even get a copy on eBay. The Chilton number is 72302 and the ISBN is 0-8019-9095-5. There are also the Volvo Green books (dealer workshop manuals) available but you would need to purchase quite a number of separate books.

I have bought VADIS off ebay in the past and found it vey goodthere is only one small snagg, it tells me it's out of date and can't be used. just re-set the date on your PC while you are using it and it will be OK. I think there is a way rond this, but I have never looked into this. Cheers Minstrel
