How does the compressor works? I understand that it reduces the dynamic range, but that's all I know. Furthermore, I understand that for these purposes the more suitable to use clipper. I watched a video where a man explains that think of a compressor if you pack up your bag, and the compressor helps flatly stack your things. But how? And why it does that? if it only reduces dynamic range?? I do not understand the theory behind this process like compressor as reduction in dynamic range helps to have instruments in the mix. ????? ps I wrote about peaks. Compressor helps to catch these peaks and make them quieter. Well, you can yet raise the overall volume (RMS compress and raise the output gain). That's all. How squashing audio by a compressor helps place that audio( tracks, parts, etc) in the mix? Maybe why and not how ????
